Family Matters is a project led by artist Anastasia Xirouchakis in conjunction with students and their families from Riverside school. Young people were given disposable cameras to document their life outside of school. Student’s where then introduced to the analogue photographic process, printing their own photographs in a darkroom. The Project was generously funded by A.N.D as part of this year I AM Festival which aims to Empower Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent young people to explore their creativity.
Anastasia Xirouchakis is an American/Greek Artist who studied at Rhode Island School of Design, she work predominantly with analogue photography through both a studio practice and collaborative/participatory projects.
